Learning to write letters
Forming letters well is a matter of the hands: the order of the strokes, the direction and the size. Here you draw with a finger or a touch pen, with a guide that shows how it is done.
What you practise
- Lower-case letters, capitals and digits, and then words.
- An animated guide that draws itself, fainter or absent as you progress.
- It is judged by where the stroke starts, which way it goes and how big it is, not “by eye”.
- If it does not work out, it shows how it is done and you can try again as often as you like, without it counting.
How it adapts
The demand goes up with the level, and those who need more support with handwriting have their own setting, separate from spelling. While drawing, the screen does not move and resting a hand leaves no marks.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you need a touch pen?
- No: a finger works. If a touch pen is seen, a resting hand leaves no marks.
- How do you know it is right?
- It is compared with the shape of the letter: where it starts, which way it goes and how big it is. It does not ask to look like a typeface.
- What if it does not work out?
- It shows how it is done and you can try again as often as you like, without it counting.

Not loading on match days?
During football matches, some internet providers in Spain block addresses that a huge number of websites share, and that can lock you out of OXI Kids for a while. It is not a fault with your phone or the app, and nothing you have done is lost. Try another DNS (on Android: Settings → Private DNS → one.one.one.one), a VPN or the 1.1.1.1 app, or come back when the match is over.
